This Privacy Policy explains how Drift Pilot (“Drift Pilot”, “the App”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information when you use the Drift Pilot mobile application.
Drift Pilot is designed as a privacy-focused application for recreational and professional boating. The App is designed to perform its core functions locally on the user's device and does not operate a cloud service or central database for user navigation data.

Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, Drift Pilot processes certain information locally on your device.
Drift Pilot may access precise GPS and location information from your device in order to provide features including:
Location information used by Drift Pilot remains on your device.
Drift Pilot does not transmit your GPS position or location history to the developer, to a Drift Pilot server, or to any external server operated by us.
We do not maintain a cloud database containing your location or navigation history.
If you use the optional alarm-call function, you may enter or select a telephone number to which your device may attempt to make a telephone call when the configured alarm condition is triggered.
The telephone number used for this function is stored locally on your device.
Drift Pilot does not transmit the selected telephone number to the developer or to a Drift Pilot server.
The actual telephone call is handled by your device and telecommunications provider and may be subject to their systems, permissions, network availability and applicable terms.

The App does not require you to provide your name, postal address, email address or other personal information in order to use its core functionality.

Drift Pilot does not contain advertising.
Drift Pilot does not use analytics, behavioural tracking, advertising tracking, telemetry or crash-reporting services to collect information about your use of the App.
We do not create advertising profiles based on your location or use of Drift Pilot.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information or location information with third parties.
We do not provide your location data or selected alarm telephone number to third parties.
Drift Pilot may interact with services provided by the operating system, Apple, Google, GPS/location services and telecommunications providers where necessary for the App or device functionality to operate.
For example, your device and telecommunications provider may independently process information when providing GPS, mobile-network or telephone services. Such processing is controlled by the relevant third party and is subject to its own privacy policy and terms.
Drift Pilot does not control information independently processed by Apple, Google, your device manufacturer, your mobile network operator or other third-party service providers.
Depending on the device and operating system, Drift Pilot may request permissions necessary for particular functions, including:
Permissions are requested only for the relevant App functionality.
You can control or revoke permissions through your device settings. If a required permission is disabled or revoked, the corresponding Drift Pilot function may not operate correctly.
Anchor-watch functionality may require continuous access to location information while the App is operating.
The operating system may restrict background activity, suspend applications, restrict battery usage, disable GPS or otherwise limit the operation of the App. If this occurs, Drift Pilot may be unable to monitor the vessel's position or generate an alarm correctly.
The user is responsible for ensuring that the required permissions, device settings and operating conditions are correctly configured before relying on the App.
Information stored by Drift Pilot is stored locally on the user's device.
You can delete locally stored information using available reset or clear functions within the App or by deleting the App and its associated application data through the device's operating system.
Because Drift Pilot does not maintain a user account or central database containing your navigation information, we do not hold a separate server-side copy of your navigation data that can be requested for deletion.
Information independently retained by Apple, Google, telecommunications providers or other third parties is governed by their respective policies and procedures.
Drift Pilot is not specifically directed at children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Drift Pilot is designed to minimise unnecessary collection and transmission of user information by processing its core navigation functions locally on the device.
However, no software, mobile device, operating system or telecommunications network can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available. Users should protect their device with an appropriate lock screen, keep their operating system updated and prevent unauthorised physical access to the device.
Drift Pilot is offered as a one-time purchase through the applicable app store.
Apple, Google or another applicable app-store provider may process payment, transaction and account information required to complete and manage the purchase. Drift Pilot does not receive or store your payment card details.
Any information independently processed by the applicable app-store provider is subject to that provider's privacy policy and terms.
Drift Pilot may be used by customers in different countries.
Because Drift Pilot is designed to process its core navigation information locally and does not transmit that information to our servers, we do not transfer your navigation or location data to our own servers in another country.
Third-party providers such as Apple, Google and telecommunications providers may process information in accordance with their own policies and applicable laws.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, applicable law, regulatory requirements or platform requirements.
The updated version will be made available through the App and/or the relevant application store listing. Where appropriate, significant changes may also be communicated through an App update or other reasonable means.
